haihh... study....

One uni semester is like one season long of the football premier league. Its long, draining and exhausting. I think maintaining the motivation is very important to keep you going for the rest of the semester, like keeping the passion for the season.

When last semester began, I was just back from the 3 months plus long holiday, and I was not fresh, still in the holiday mood. Concentration, keeping up-to-date with lectures, doing tutorials, exams were all problems. Plus, there was the Chinese new year holidays. In short, I was slacking like shit. I took some time to recover, slowly getting my rhythm back. But, it came at an expense. I sacrificed a lot of time and had to double the effort since I was left out so much.

It is very important to have a good start. You would prefer doing things on schedule than doing all last minute in a short period of time, which is insane.

wat happened??

I used to have a close female friend since my last year holidays. It was a platonic friendship because she is 2 years older than me and she had a steady boyfriend of 5 years. We actually spent a lot of time together through daily work, activities and trip, and we had fun together. We used to be chatting all night during the holidays and I would usually share my problems with her because she was so caring as a friend, good listener and she made me felt comfortable.

But, after the new year started, we continued on our different paths of uni life, and we were very less in touch. Up to a point, she started to treat me coldly- giving one-liners in msn conversations, didn't reply my sms, rejecting our yum cha sessions and finally locking up her blog to personal blogger friends only. All these cues are very subtle and it could be just me being over-suspicious, but there is certainly a big difference between last time and now. I can't help to think that it was me that caused it.

Maybe, it is because of my tendency to take advantage of her care by talking about my problems all the time and neglecting her feelings and problems totally. I may have gone overboard with her, treating her like a listener, turning to her only when I have problems and then ignorant of her own problems.

Or perhaps I was kinda two-faced. I know, many people think of me as an innocent guy and she likes the innocence of me. But, I am not completely innocent inside. Sometimes, I can be mean and cruel. The different faces that show through time maybe made her realize she was wrong and she started to lose the interest in the friendship.

It could be my selfish nature of not making the effort to keep in touch with her after new year. She was actually the one taking the initiative to make plans to meet up while I just waited to be invited. When she doesn't do it, me either didn't make much effort to catch up with her news through sms or set up a reunion. I don't have the habit of planning things. When only one party is doing much of the work to keep the friendship going strong, she gets frustrated. I know, I suck. I really hate myself for not appreciating such a good friend.

When I think about all these possible causes, it drives me crazy- the wondering and guessing game is torturous. Whether or not the reasons above are the real causes, I admit that sometimes I was aware I was doing it, but still I never change the bad habits. I feel really bad for what I have done. I am really sorry. I know it is now on me to make things better, but sorry seems to be the hardest word. I don't know what to do.

calling names...

Chinese names today are becoming more and more creative. People now tend to assimilate foreign names especially English into their children's Chinese names, like how the Malay language borrows heavily from English.

For example, Ng Jenny or Ng Jen Nee, Lee Mary, Tan Alex, all of which are just my examples but really, there're a lot of similar names nowadays. Last time, the English words are supposed to be their Christian or English names, which is placed before the surname. Now, they have totally been "Chinese-d".

Maybe it's because when you identify someone with his/her English names too much, the Chinese names are usually forgotten or even ignored. So, they might as well put it as their Chinese names. Although sometimes I do think that we, as Chinese should stick to Chinese names as it is our identity, I admit it's always easier to remember English names. And I know I myself am a Chinese illiterate and I'm kinda shameful to admit.

But, some people go to the extreme with names. Recently, I saw one: Chen Caesar. This is the ultimate one and it's so omg. He even put Julius as his English name. I mean, we as Malaysians will never get used to calling our own people exotic names like this in Malaysia. It's very awkward and weird. In fact, people make fun of it. "Caesar? Caesar?" almost like "scissor? scissor?". Yes, me.

THE EPIC VICTORY

There it is. Manchester United is the champions of Europe! The match is one of the most amazing games that I have ever watched. Nail-biting, nerve-wrecking, heart-weakening(you need a heart of Ironman to watch this game) and it really brought out the emotions in fans, especially me. It had everything you can ask for- passion, tension, great footwork, great moves, great saves, a bit of compassion, fights, red card, yellow cards, tears, elation and some wonderful open football ....... the most emotional day!

When Paul Scholes broke his nose early in the game and had a lot of blood oozing out, I was so worried because it would be a disaster for him if his involvement in the game was to end that way. But he came back after treatment to perform brilliantly when he combined with Brown to create the Ronaldo goal. The '99 final memories is now finally behind him.

The number 42 will always be a special number that I will remember because it is the number of goals Ronaldo scored overall in this season and it is the number of my house address.

When Tevez and Carrick missed 3 golden chances, the pain was excruciating. They were so agonizingly close to wrapping up the game by half time. Instead, they conceded a very unlucky goal just before half-time and won it the hard way, all the way to extra-time and penalty shootout.

Chelsea took confidence from the equalizer and then dominated the second half. Suddenly, I felt like it was Barcelona again cos we were under so much pressure from Chelsea's attacks and we couldn't hold on to possession and create chances. You can't tell how much relief I felt when Drogba and Lampard's shots on goal hit the posts and away from the goal. The tension was so immense.

I felt increasingly frustrated as all the beautiful chances that United created was either missed, saved or cleared off the line. Petr Cech saved 2 in the 1st half and when Terry headed Giggs' seemingly destined-to-be goal shot away, the frustration hit maximum. I thought if we were to lose that game, it was going to be the darkest day of my life thinking how they missed all those chances.

And then, my friend received a false sms update that Chelsea scored. I was very depressed for a very long period of the game, thinking that I was going to see Chelsea score in a few minutes time. But, fortunately it was a goal that never was.

And it was made all the more tense when the players started to fight 5 minutes before the shootout. The Chelsea players were angry because Tevez deliberately kicked the ball out for a throw-in instead of passing it to Cech as a mark of showmanship. It's ridiculous for Chelsea to act that way bcos they did it twice earlier in the game!! Though I didn't really know what was the cause at that time, when I saw Drogba being shown the red card for slapping Vidic, I was so happy and disgusted at the same time. Go off you fucker Drogba. Good as you may be, but you are such a shame and disgrace. Diver, actor, temperamental, whiner.

When it reached shootout, I thought the sending off was of no impact to our hopes of winning the game. But, I was very confident of Van der Sar cos earlier in the season he saved a hattrik of penalty kicks from Chelsea players in the Community Shield. But it went so wrong that of all people, Ronaldo missed his kick and Van der Sar couldn't save any of first four. It became too stressful to watch.

When John Terry stepped up to take Chelsea's final kick that was to be the winning kick if he scored it, I thought it was going to be the lowest moment of my life. I was prepared to cry my heart out. As nervous I am, but I never really thought he would miss it or Van der Sar would save it.

And to my surprise, he slipped at the most important moment and missed it. It was crazy. We were all so happy. It was like a patient whose heart has stopped beating coming back to life again and the heart started to beat again. The glimmer of hope started to shine brightly. The dim fire of the candle suddenly became a blaze. At that moment, we started to believe again. I felt like we were already almost there and it was going to be fate that we win it. Now I believe it that there can be miracles when we believe.

When Van der Sar saved Anelka's kick, we were celebrating and shouting like mad people. We were euphoric. It was the best moment of my life. It's difficult to describe the euphoria. Nothing beats this. Suddenly, I feel like my life is so much more meaningful.

It's fate that Man Utd has to win this. I don't care if you come to me and tell me that Man Utd is lucky to win, Chelsea deserved to win or anything like that. At the end of the debate, the champions is still Man Utd.

Hail Manchester United the double champion!

what a season....!

Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Words can't describe this. We are king of Europe!! I will write one long grandmother story on the CL final, but before that, this is on the premier league:

Manchester United

Barclays English Premier League Winner 17th time
2007/08

It was another glorious season for Manchester United, which saw them making their presence immensely felt on all fronts- the Premier League, FA cup and UEFA Champions League. Now at the end of the 2007/08 season, I am proud to present to you my analysis on Man Utd's success-filled season, on their way towards glory. Muahahaha

------------

Earlier in the summer last year, the Red Devils, having just retained the league title after a 3 year hiatus, splashed some hefty 40 million pounds on Oliveira Anderson, Luis Nani, Owen Hargreaves and Carlos Tevez to bolster the squad to increase their chances in all competitions.

Community Shield

First game, first silverware. Their very first game of the season already earned them a silverware when they beat Chelsea 3-0 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in the Community Shield match. Ryan Giggs scored a great goal only for Chelsea's exciting new boy Florent Malouda to equalize right before half-time. And then in the penalty shootout, Edwin Van der Sar produced unbelievable performance by saving a hattrik of consecutive penalty kicks. I remember I couldn't stop laughing watching the shootout.

The Season

For champions, it was a nightmare start, drawing 2 games and losing one- first a goalless draw against 10-man Reading at Old Trafford, then a 1-1 draw at Portsmouth, and finally a 1-0 defeat in the Manchester derby. They only got 2 points out of possible 9, scored only 1 goal in 3 games. Wayne Rooney fractured a foot in the first game and was ruled out for 2 months, while Cristiano Ronaldo got sent off at Portsmouth and was suspended for 3 games. The only positive thing from the 3 games was, Paul Scholes scored a fantastic first Man Utd goal of the season.

No Rooney, no Ronaldo, but the defeat to Manchester City was the final straw and a rude awakening, prompting the Red Devils to embark on an unstoppable 11 games winning streak in the Premier league and champions league. But it was no easy task, as 6 of the 11 wins were 1-0 wins, with Man Utd slowly building up from a solid defence. New boy Luis Nani started the massacre by scoring a stunning winning goal against Tottenham and celebrating in style with an acrobatic sommersault.

Nani thunderbolt

The sweetest win among the 11 has got to be the 2-0 win over the then crisis-stricken Chelsea at Old Trafford, although it was rather controversial in favor of the devils. Carlos Tevez and Louis Saha scored in the last minute of each half, giving Avram Grant, his worst start as Chelsea's manager. And to make it sweeter, the stupid bad-boy outcast John Obi Mikel got sent off early in the first half.

Man Utd 2-0 Chelsea

By the time Wayne Rooney scored his first goal of the season in the 1-0 win over Roma at home, United's goal drought and run of unconvincing 1-0 wins were to come to an end. They went on a goal-fest as there were goals galore in the next 7 games:

Man Utd 1-0 Roma
Man Utd 4-0 Wigan
Aston Villa 1-4 Man Utd
Dynamo Kiev 2-4 Man Utd
Man Utd 4-1 Middlesbrough
Arsenal 2-2 Man Utd
Man Utd 4-0 Dynamo Kiev
Man Utd 2-0 Blackburn

Superb goal vs Roma

Wayne Rooney went on a goal rampage as well, scoring 7 goals in 7 games. Their brand of attacking football were brilliant and impressive, as they killed off games by half-time in 4 of the 8 consecutive games. Such were the menace of United's attacking play that had opposition teams running scared.

Rooney taps the ball into the Kiev net

gigantic Pique celebrates his header goal against Kiev

At the end of the 2-2 draw against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, the Gunners were celebrating in euphoria as if they have already won the season title, while the devils were dejected having wasted the lead twice. We were on our way to another sweet victory when Ronaldo scored a late goal to put Man Utd 2-1 ahead, only for William Gallas to scramble in a last minute equalizer. The disappointment was unbearable because we scored a late goal with little time left to defend the lead, we were so so near to a big, big win. All in all, for Man Utd and Arsenal fans, it was a nerve-wrecking match, while for neutral fans, the passion and beauty of the game was definitely a joy to watch.

Well, streaks do end, United's winning run was finally halted when they crashed to a 1-0 loss at Bolton. It was a game where tempers flared as Bolton won it ugly. Maybe winning it ugly was the only way to prevent United from continuing their ruthless slaying of teams at that time. Nicolas Anelka, Sir Alex's long-time target, scored the only goal to inflict a defeat for United at Bolton for the first time in 30 years, and a first win for new Bolton boss, Gary Megson, that pushed Bolton out of the relegation zone for the first time in the season. Ronaldo and Vidic were missing, the players made little impact, decisions went against United, Evra was poor victim of Kevin Davies savage tackles that left the Frenchman half-dead, Sir Alex was banished to the stands for his rant at the ref at half-time. What a defeat. Any Man Utd fan would be cursing Kevin Davies to the max after the match.

Then, United bounced back by beating Sporting Lisbon 2-1, with Cristiano Ronaldo scoring a remarkable free-kick in injury time that sealed their place in the knockout stage of the Champions league. He scored 2 goals in 2 games against Sporting Lisbon, which is his old club.

Ronaldo after his goal. Don't you feel like punching his face?

They then went on a 5 games winning streak, with some great Cristiano Ronaldo goals along the way. Among the wins were the priceless 1-0 victory over Liverpool at Anfield, with Tevez scoring the vital goal before half-time.

Tevez..!

West Ham was next to stop United's unbeaten streak when they exacted a big upset on their title hopes by coming back from 1-0 down to beat United 2-1. It was another disappointing "Arsenal's 2-2". Leading at 1-0, Ronaldo missed a penalty in the 2nd half and he was made to pay for the blunder when 2 central defenders Matthew Upson(he used to be a Gunner) and Rio's bro Anton Ferdinand scored with 2 late headers to give Man Utd a big slap on the face. How ironic! West Ham was becoming a real pain in the ass because it was Alan Curbishley's and West Ham's 3rd consecutive win over Man Utd!

However, each time they suffered defeat, they never fail to bounce back as they staged another winning spell, starting with the 1-0 win over Birmingham, thanks to a beautiful teamwork goal by Tevez.

What is the linesman looking at..?!
FA cup: Aston Villa 0-2 Man Utd

They then humiliated Newcastle(as they always do) by scoring six goals in the second half to give the pathetic Toons a kick in the ass. The thousands of chances that United missed in the first half was quickly forgotten. Ex-devil Alan Smith saw red as well in injury time for dissent, probably out of frustration. United fans(me) were in seventh heaven after the game.

There were so many breath-taking goals scored along the way after that, some of which are Rooney and Ronaldo against stubborn Reading, and Ronaldo's goal of the season free-kick against Portsmouth.

a goal worthy of celebration

Dropping more points were inevitable however, as Tevez scored a last minute equalizer to salvage a precious 1-1 draw against difficult Tottenham at White Hart Lane and losing again to Man City, this time 2-1 at home, the worse way to commemorate the Munich air disaster victims. Up to this point, Arsenal title-chasing run has been magnificent, winning games convincingly and taking advantage of United's slump in form, going 5 points clear of United at the top of the table.

Tevez...!!

One of the defining moments of the season came, as we kicked Arsenal's young arses out of FA cup with a 4-0 thrashing. Actor Emmanuel Eboue got sent off, Darren Fletcher scored 2 goals with headers(..?!) and ended the game as a contest by half-time at 3-0. Nani was the highlight however, scoring a superb goal, celebrating with a rare backflip, terrorizing the Arsenal backline, and humiliating poor Justin Hoyte(watch the end of the video). Such was the embarrassment that at one point disgraceful William Gallas kicked out at Nani.

Anyhow, both clubs' minds were not focused in the FA cup as they had massive Champions league games in midweek. In Lyon, potential-devil Karim Benzema gave Rio and co. a torrid time, finding the smallest of spaces between 4 defenders to blast in the opening goal for the French team. Things looked bleak for the devils, until substitute Tevez, yet again, scored a late late goal from close range to claim a crucial draw.

Tevez-kutip sayur

Meanwhile, in London, Arsenal was held to a goalless draw by defending champions AC Milan, that was the start of Arsenal's ordeal. The Gunners drew 4 of their next games before succumbing to a defeat by Chelsea, that paved the way for a United comeback. Everything went wrong for them, they conceded a last minute penalty to Birmingham, striker Edouardo broke his leg, captain Gallas softened and cried on the pitch, Senderos continues his "form" with an own goal, few chances and saving games with late equalizers. It was disastrous March for Arsenal, except for the fact that they kicked AC Milan out of champions league.

Elsewhere, it was a sweet month for United, winning all their matches except for the painful exit from FA cup thanks to Portsmouth luck. They thrashed Newcastle again, this time 5-1(newcastle is shit or Man Utd is too good? muahahaha). Squad depth was fully utilized as they beat Fulham 3-0 with Rooney and Ronaldo rested for Lyon. Then, the fresh and rejuvenated Ronaldo scored the only goal against Lyon, booking a date against Roma(again) in the quarters.

Ron again

Apart from the undeserving FA cup loss where United had few efforts cleared off the line, Thomas Kuszczak sent off, Rio being keeper conceding late penalty, and the hard-fought 1-0 win over lowly Derby, they produced easy victories over Bolton, Liverpool and Aston Villa. At this point of time, United was already 6 points clear at the top.

The victory over Liverpool was another sweet one, as Wes Brown popped up with a rare goal, Nani scored another cracker and Mascherano's non-stop rebellion earned him a red card and the reputation as "the dumbest man on the planet" as well.

bald vs bald for ball

Then, they completed a convincing double over AS Roma by winning 3-0 on aggregate to set up a mouth-watering semi-final clash against powerhouse Barcelona. As they took home a 2-0 win from Rome thanks to goals from Ronaldo and Rooney, they took 2nd leg easy as Evra, Vidic, Scholes, Rooney and Ronaldo were all rested. Had not De Rossi missed a first-half penalty, it would have been still a tight contest. United took comfortable control of the game, second stringers Silvestre and Pique had some quality time on the pitch, Hargreaves put up a brilliant performance nearly scoring a brace, Tevez headed in a Hargreaves cross and Gary Neville made a long-awaited comeback at central midfield! It was United's 6th encounter with Roma in 2 seasons, scoring 13 goals against them in total. Remember the 7-1?

Special mention of Nicklas Bendtner for clearing Fabregas' goal-bound shot off the line for Liverpool in their 1-1 draw at the Emirates.

Ron header

Rossi penalty miss- would have counted if it was a rugby penalty kick

As Arsenal faltered, Chelsea took over as United's nearest title-challenger and put up a very stiff competition. With games coming thick and fast, injuries and fatigue set in and rotations had to be made often, utilizing the squad's resources. Vidic was victim to a variety of injuries(knee, face, stomach infection) that caused him to be in and out of the hospital in the space of a few days. But, the big tough Serbian always made it back, needing only short period of recovery. Replacements Pique, Oshea and Silvestre all did well when called upon.

Vida, getting a ride home

At the Riverside, once a 7-goal hero Afonso Alves gave United a scare by scoring a stylish double before Park and Rooney combined for the latter to equalize, ending the game at 2-2.

Then, they accomplished what they nearly did earlier in the season, beating Arsenal 2-1 at Old Trafford to effectively end the Gunners' title hopes. A defensive mess-up between Rio and Van der Sar allowed Adebayor to poke the ball into the net, with his hand, giving Arsenal a much-needed lead. But, it never lasted long as Gallas handled the ball again in his own penalty area, this time spotted by the referee and Ronaldo converted the kick. Then, the moment of madness came when Owen Hargreaves struck a glorious curling free-kick into the net, leaving Lehmann static. It was a big, big goal.

Owen, stealing Ron's kick

Yaahhhh!

With the games of their lives ahead(Barcelona) and pressure mounting, the devils started to slip worryingly as they drew 1-1 away at Blackburn thanks to another late goal by who-else Tevez and finally being beaten by Chelsea 2-1 at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea went level on points with Man Utd at the top, leaving the title-chase to go down to the wire.

Tevez again...!

Ballack, proving he's no flop with 2 goals vs Man U

However, the disappointment was more than compensated when United pulled off one of their greatest victories of all time by beating Barcelona 1-0 over 2 legs to earn themselves a place in history and the champions league final in Moscow. However, it came with a lot of hard work.
Unlike the usual United, the back four and Van der Sar were the busier department in both matches as they fended off threats from Messi and co. over and over again.

At Nou Camp, it was one-way traffic as Barcelona had 73% possession with Messi being the thorn in the skin, 20 shots to 7, Ronaldo missed a penalty, and Park ran 11.8km.

penalty miss agony

Scholes is a bad choice to guard Messi

At Old Trafford, possession was still a problem as they again spent most of the time chasing the ball but this time, United had a twelfth man- the home supporters putting up a fantastic performance for the 90 minutes, firing United up to clinch a massive win. And it was fate that Paul Scholes, who missed their last final in 1999, had to score the winning goal in the best ever fashion, a sensational 30-yards screamer. That final whistle was the sweetest thing they have ever heard as they confirmed their place in the final, bidding for the most prestigious prize in club football. One more win and they rule Europe.

the 12th man

the priceless goal

to the final...!

With the players extremely fired up from the big win, the same 11 then crushed West Ham 4-1 at Old Trafford which saw Tevez and Ashton scoring crazy goals. Nevermind Nani's immaturity for getting sent off. Chelsea won their game as well to take the season to a nail-biting finale. But, United were too strong for Wigan as they won 2-0, albeit with some help from favourable refereeing decisions. United should have conceded a penalty for a Rio handball and Scholes sent off for two bookings. The biasedness took away the glory a bit but it doesn't matter as Manchester United are the champions of England again!!

bang!

One of the biggest decision that we have to make in our lives is to decide on which tertiary education path to follow. At this point of time, I do think I have made the right decision, choosing my current course although the degree of difficulty sometimes raised a few doubts.

I think many people screwed up the decisions, failing to choose what's best for them. I know sometimes we cannot be sure that one particular decision is the best option without really experiencing it first.

But I find it baffling that some people went through 2 semesters of a degree already, and then she switched to the lower-level Taylor's. Some students from a college switched to a degree, studied for one semester and then left again. I know of a number of distant friends who already quitted their respective courses. Many students went to Taylor's "with a view of going overseas", studied pre-uni for around one and a half year, and then ended up taking degree in Monash, when there is a 1 year foundation programme in the uni. Of course, who wouldn't choose Taylor's for its hot girls? These students enjoy for one and a half year, being surrounded by irresistibly attractive girls everyday, going clubbing with hot girls in skimpy clothes. What a wonderful life. Time and money is so nothing. (ignore me, maybe i'm just jealous.. muahaha).

the grand finale

The biggest game of the season is approximately 51 hours from now. In fact, it is the biggest game of my life since starting to watch football and support Man Utd. No game has been ever more exciting and grand than this. The magnitude of the occasion is so so so big that, that I just can't find the right words to describe it.

Let's just put it this way:

If i have exam at 8 or 9am after the game, I will still watch it.
No matter how sick am i and how much rest i need to prepare myself for that exam, I will still watch it.
For whatever reason that I need to attend to someone be it family or gf(if i ever have one), I will ignore them and still watch it.
In short, I don't care if I get the priorities wrong, the game is first on the priority list. It's life or death game.

For a footballer, it is a dream to win the champions league as it is the ultimate prize that can be achieved in club football. To win it is to be the king of Europe. With powerhouses from all over Europe vying for the cup every season, a chance like this never comes often. The last time Man Utd won it, they won it with the most dramatic fashion and it was in 1999. And i really regret that I wasn't United's fan yet at that time.

Man Utd fans brace yourselves for the biggestest Man Utd game in 9 years!!!!

10 things idiots do on Friendster

Have you ever read a bulletin in Friendster titled "10 things idiots do on Friendster"?
It's so damn freaking funny because they are so true! Some of the particular points that I like is:

TWO
To the people who have like 25,000 friends, and over 5 or even 10 or 20 account...!!!
are you serious? You're stupid. Go play in traffic.

THREE
Don't ever post pictures and say "OMG, I'm so ugly", "OMG, I'm so fat" because if you were,
you wouldn't post them. And if u do, ur a freaking mongoloid.

TEN
And if you open a bulletin and it says something like "repost this in 100 seconds or a ghost will rape your dog tonight,or some dead skinless girl is gonna rape your mom.."
QUIT BEING A DUMBASS.

Normally I don't care about people who do all these stuff, but it's nice having a good laugh at them.

I remember one girl added comment to my Friendster profile, asking me to introduce myself
(definitely not trying to boast cos it happened only once!). She was that kind of girl that fits the first 2 points above- thousands of friends and comments, with guys occupying the comments box(many are flirty). She had a blog, which every guy read, where she spilled all her personal problems that guys sympathized on and offered consolation. She uploaded hundreds of photos of herself, some with her cleavage exposed a bit and and captions like "nice or not?", "fat fat la me" or "oops" because she exposed her cleavage. And then her shoutout was something like "I know i am very wrong. I promised I will change". I forgot the exact words la, it was longer.

I replied her something like "Hi, I am Conan. I know I am very wrong, but I won't change it". I don't remember exactly what i wrote also la, it was longer. She never replied.

There's a lot of things that can be related to real life from these points. I mean, there are things that are needless to say, but people still say it. For example, you know you will hurt people when you say something, but you still say it and then only apologize. Or you know people know whatever you will say are excuses, but you still say it to save face. Sometimes, it can be irritating when people keep doing it. Just my ten cents.

Anyway, the entry on Man Utd that I said I will write is already in the making. I will post it after the Champions league final next week. Hopefully, the final result will complement the blog entry. Muahaha.. It sure will! Football fans please comment ok!

quite introverted?

Human relationships are very complicated, not to mention love yet. Relationships between friends alone can be enough headaches.

Generally, I’m quite an unfriendly and quiet person in the outside world. I am afraid to make more new friends because I’m scared of attachments and responsibilities.

During conversations with new friends, we don’t know how much we have in common and we have to find out. We have to think of conversation topics to keep the conversation flowing. And basically, I don’t really enjoy the process of thinking of conversation topics and exchanging information about ourselves because I know I can’t remember much things about new friends(even names), and therefore, I will become very reluctant and I will look unnatural in conversing.

And talking about attachments, when we have many friends, there’s bound to be situations when we have to socialize or help the other parties. These are responsibilities that sometimes I am lazy to shoulder. I understand very well that there has to be giving and receiving in friendships, but when there’s so many parties involved, I find it hard to commit. Maybe that’s part of growing up and I know we need all these attachments because they may be of help to us in the future, and always sticking to my current circle of friends is hard for me to survive in the outside world.

Well, I guess I’m not good in public relations. That’s why every time I am in need and I turn to friends(not close friends) for help, I become very easily guilty because I never give much. I don’t get absorbed in conversations with my normal friends (unless the topic is football) so that’s why I never get emotionally connected with them. The emotional distance between me n them makes it difficult for me to seek help from them. Therefore, most of the time, if I am able, I try to be independent. For example, I have a friend who stays near my rented house and drives to class. I can follow him everyday and easily save RM7 of bus fares per week but I refuse as I don’t like the feeling when asking for a favor regularly, knowing that I will still never be close friends with him. Of course, when at home, I never hesitate to ask favors from my parents lah.

I think for me, time matters la. For example, when I mix with one everyday for some time already and know him/her quite well through time, it all becomes too natural and I express myself better. The problems above don’t occur to me. What I say to them comes naturally and I don’t try to think of something to talk about for the sake of the conversation. I am more willing to socialize with them. I give and receive more easily. I like the natural flow.

And the same goes for courtship in love. In love, the guy tries to impress the girl for her attention. I don’t like going through that process and I prefer that the feelings come naturally and only time will hitch us up. I don’t like to be thinking of things to say to a girl so that she'll be impressed, especially when sms-ing which can be a grueling process for me. The ideal thing is me n her can talk casually, completely being ourselves, not trying to hide our imperfections out of fear of spoiling our own images. But, being quiet is not doing any good for me to know more girls..!

At the end of the day, I find myself asking this question: Is this introverted-ness just an attitude of mine or a problem that needs to be solved?

greetings....

hi friends! i'm blogging again to kill time... the last time i deleted my blog, it was because i thought the blog was meaningless as i restricted myself too much from revealing my views on a variety of things... now i'm doing it again and this time i hope to open up more and not make this blog too personal, which means i'm going to pull more friends to view my blog! i hope it won't be boring like last time, but one thing certain is, the layout is gonna bore you. forgive me for my laziness to do all the template thing.

suddenly i feel like there's a lot in me that i long to comment about.. human relationships, friends, studies, football, myself and so on. last year i wrote a post on man utd's title-winning season, which i thought was my most not-boring post(all the time spent on putting in pics), but i never got any feedback... this time, i will write one hoping to see more comments..

and then, i'm also open to criticism(be it constructive or plain flaming), as calvin's dad in calvin&hobbes say, it builds character. i am saying this bcos i will try to inject a lot of my ego and insecurities into the entries. from feedbacks, i know more about my wekanesses and improve.

hahhah.. all these sounds so serious and formal and weird and watever coming from me.

but, anyway, hail manchester united!!!

cheers!
