You'll always walk alone

This is going to be Liverpool's season.

They have big tanks of luck, good players and they play beautiful football, the right ingredients to be a champion.

Yes, they play beautiful football. That kind of exciting football where the ball can float in the air and never touch the ground for like a few minutes. It's full of suspense and excitement because we never know who's gonna win the possession. Although people say 90 minutes of watching Liverpool play are 90 minutes wasted, although their style brings up the issue of the definition of football, it doesn't really matter because they grind out results. Liverpool is the better form of Bolton. I don't understand why Liverpool hasn't been winning league titles for 18 years. Probably because in Liverpool, only 2 people know how to put the ball in the net.

Torres is walking alone in Liverpool

Their ball possession is very strong as they always manage to let someone far from their nearest opponent hold the ball, whether it is the horizontal distance or the vertical distance. For vertical distance, I explained in the previous paragraph, coupled with Liverpool players' aerial ability. As for horizontal distance, it's the kind of play that involves the goalkeeper a lot since the goalkeeper is the furthest player from the nearest opposing player. It's a good thing because normally in big teams which have good defence, goalkeepers have a lot of free time between the sticks and so, in Liverpool, it doesn't apply. That is why a Liverpool goalkeeper has to keep 100% concentration all the time as they are called on as often as any other infield player. Thus, when Reina makes his trademark howlers, you know he is forgivable.

They have rock solid defence. Opposing teams find it hard to breach their backline because even if they manage to put the ball in Liverpool's half, it never stays for long as it usually gets whacked back to the opponents half in no time. Such is the degree of difficulty.

Another thing good about Liverpool is, they make you play like them. If you realize, good teams, except the big four are normally playing Liverpool style when playing against Liverpool, making it an "end-to-end" game. Aston Villa for example plays good football under Martin O'neill, but when they play against Liverpool, they play like Liverpool. Thats how Liverpool make teams lose their style and then beat them. But, often this kind of games end up goalless.

And talking about good players, it fascinates me how many good players Liverpool has. Yes, Liverpool wins with good players. You don't have to be a fantastic player to play for Liverpool, as long as you are hardworking, you know how to cross from any angle and your first instincts when holding the ball in your own half is to pass to the goalkeeper. Liverpool makes dreams come true because thanks to them, any other average player can dream of joining a big team, Liverpool. To name a few: Charles Itandje, Álvaro Arbeloa, Andriy Voronin, Fabio Aurelio, Philipp Degen, Sami Hyypia, Emiliano Insua, Martin Skrtel, Nabil El Zhar, Lucas, Damien Plessis, Alberto Riera, Dirk Kuyt and David Ngog.

I miss Finnan

In the opener against Sunderland, Torres scored a stunning 83rd minuted winner. In the game against Middlesbrough, a late own goal and a Gerard screamer gifted Liverpool victory. They scored the only goal 2 minutes from the end of 210 minutes against Standard Liege to enter the Champions league group stage. Brown own goal gifted them equalizer against Man Utd and spurred them on to win 2-1. That's how the players get the chance to say this often: "It was a tough game. We sticked together, never gave up and managed to come out winners."

Dirk Kuyt, the guy with a million shots and 1 goal. Keep it up.

It's a common thing that an eventual champion would have a run of poor performances but manage to grind out the right results. Liverpool gives a whole new definition to this theory. They never looked like champions material with the players they have, they never play good football and still have all the luck in the world. If they're not going to win this season, I don't know who will.

Liverpool style is the way to go nowadays.

Kudos to liv, they deserved to win yesterday, we were out-muscled. As they say, liv are the team who has the best fans. even when they play 'superb' football, their fans still cheer which is a thing to be admired. But with every long ball, their fans seem to be over-excited. Its kinda funny sometimes.

They're really superb fans, i'd give 'em that. They're the typical 'representative' of English football. Look at the England team in the past yrs, they play like Liverpool, at least in my opinion. Which really turns me off. When it comes to football, no doubt they're never on top with teams like Arsenal, Man Utd, Barca, the Madrids, Milan, Valencia, etc etc due to their lack of flair and creative play. Even Everton plays better than them. BUT, never push away the fact that they can easily outplay an Arsenal team due to their 'ever-hardworking' mentality. The still have superb strength in midfield which really is a nuisance to other teams. Let's see if their yearly 'prophecy' of winning the league title will materialize. Haha.

If we look from the beautiful football perspective, then liv probably don't deserve to win the title. But they deserved to win last saturday's match, no doubt.Yes, man utd were a no-show for that game, but they did outplayed us. We have to admit defeat for last saturday's game. One thing for sure, we have to bounce back, definitely made tougher with Chelsea at home this weekend with their unbeaten home record.
We'd probably get a draw at most. It's likelier to be a bigger battering at Chelsea than Liverpool.
